POST SURGERY UPDATE
Hannah and Jeffrey have had their surgeries and we are happy to report that both are doing well. They are recovering at one of our member's homes . They were running around outside today with their cute little tails wagging. It is obvious that they feel much better! It will take a bit of time to see if hearing has been impaired . They will be ready for adoption after they have their sutures removed and get the final okay from their doctor. Surgeries for Hannah and Jeffrey are Scheduled for Thursday February 17th
Hannah and Jeffrey are going in for their ear surgeries on Thursday. Hannah's biopsy was benign! Will update again Thursday. Thanks to all of you for your generosity! You made this possible.
Hannah and Jeffrey February 9 Update
Thank you all for your generous support and kind wishes. We have scheduled surgeries for both Hannah and Jeffrey on the 16th of February. Hannah underwent a biopsy of a tumor on Feb 8th and we are hopeful it will be found to be benign. The results of the biopsy won't be known until just before her scheduled surgery. We will update the blog again when we hear about the tumor and of course after their surgeries. Thank you all again for making this possible!

The witness said she saw a woman open her car door and push two Cocker Spaniels out and then she drove away leaving the dogs whimpering and completely bewildered at their situation. Unfortunately the witness did not get a license plate number so that they could be prosecuted.
This is the story of Hannah and Jeffrey, two sweet Cocker Spaniels that were picked up by New London Animal Control a few months ago. They were so severely matted with feces and urine that they had to be completely shaved down. Their toenails were growing into their paw pads causing them to cry when they walked. They were suffering from chronic ear infections that were never treated. So much scar tissue had formed from these infections that their ear canals have closed over with cauliflower like scar tissue oozing with pus. What kind of person would do this to an animal? Sadly, in the Animal Control field we see this all too often. Ct. Animal House and Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England have teamed up to help these dogs get the medical care they need to end their suffering. They have been examined by a Vet and it has been determined that they will both need an expensive surgery called a TECA. We estimate that this surgery will cost between 2500-3000 dollars for the pair. It is their only hope or they will have to be euthanized. Please consider making a donation in their names to Ct.
